B Series Falcon Safety

The B series Ford Falcon, one of the safest Australian built cars of its time. With a 4 star ANCAP safety rating, it protects the occupants inside the vehicle and ensures maximum safety. There are many safety features of the B series Falcon. They include dual front airbags as standard throughout the whole range, with optional side curtain airbags in some models. All front seats are fitted with safety belt pretensioners to ensure that the occupants stay firmly in their seats incase of an accident. Anti Lock Brakes (ABS) is also fitted to help the car stop quicker and easier and to try and help avoid accidents.

The way the bodies of the B series Falcons have been designed and reinforced, ensures that occupants of the car are protected incase of an accident or impact on the vehicle. As you can see on the photos that are from one of our BF Falcons, that has suffered an extremely heavy impact on the passenger’s side, majority of the rest of the car looks normal still with no extra damage. The doors on the driver’s side still open and close normally, even know the passengers side has coped an impact of approximately 80km/h or more. The structural integrity of the Falcon has saved the lives of the occupants of this car and they only suffered minor injuries. The car itself is designed to take the majority of the impact, rather then the occupants of the car inside taking it. With various crumple zones and structural strong points, the car absorbs most of the impact from an accident. The car pictured still starts and drives, and drives straight at that. There was no twisting of the main structure of the car, resulting in it still being drivable. The Ford Falcon is one of the safest cars on the road at the moment; the photos shown are proof that this is true, as the driver didn’t sustain many injuries, from such a heavy impact.
